1. Three months on what is the most memorable thing about the summer camp?

The most memorable thing for me was sparring with Yassine Elmaachi. He was amazing!

2. If you have the opportunity will you attend another summer camp?

Yes definitely 100%

3. What is the most useful thing you learned from the summer camp?

The most useful thing for me has definitely been learning how to control my anger. It has helped keep me out of some sticky situations already!

4. Has anything you learned enabled you to make a difference to your life and if so what changes have you made to your life?

Yes one of the main things I learned from attending the summer camp is how important determination is if you want to achieve anything. I am now more determined than ever to do well at my college studies and get somewhere in life, which is something I wasn’t really interest in doing before I went to the summer camp. I am also more determined to do anything I set my mind to.

5. Do you feel more confident since attending the course?

Yes my confidence has increased massively!

6. Has the way you think about life changed since attending the camp? And if yes please state how?

Yes definitely… The main thing I think is to never give up in anything.

7. Do you think Boxing Evolution connects with young people?

Yes the boxing is something that young people take an interest in and was fun too.

8. Do you think Boxing Evolution can help with the problem of gang, gun and knife crime?

Yes I definitely think it can help a lot because Boxing Evolution takes young people out of trouble and keeps them busy with something useful. It also teaches them a lot of principles for life. Coming to the summer camp was all I really thought about each day and I was left with a lot to think about after each session. It kind of became my main focus over the summer.

9. Three months on is there anything else that you would like to add?

Yes the trainer is very good at what he does…. cheers

The importance of discipline and also the stamina and fitness required for boxing.

In a sense its made me more organized, confident and energetic.

6. Do you feel more confident since attending the course?

Yes I am not that timid anymore and I stand up for myself in a new place strait away.

7. Has the way you think about life changed since attending the camp? And if yes please state how?

The things which don’t seem possible are actually possible and things/goals aren’t that hard to achieve if you actually try and don’t give up.

8. Do you think Boxing Evolution connects with young people?

Its enjoyable to learn and enables youngsters to be able to concentrate.

9. Do you think Boxing Evolution can help with the problem of gang, gun and knife crime?

Yes because kids aren’t bored if they attend the club and the discipline will steer them away from bad things.

10. Three months on is there anything else that you would like to add?

I would like to do a lot more ring practice because it gives us experience, and bag work and pad work.

Yes my confidence in my ability to defend myself has increased greatly which means I feel generally safer in day to day life.

6. Has the way you think about life changed since attending the camp? And if yes please state how?

I have a lot more direction because of the boxing… I have more energy at work, me, my brothers and dad who attended the camp together have strengthened our bond through training with each other so family life is good and my training including football training is going better than ever!

7. Do you think Boxing Evolution connects with young people?

Yes Boxing Evolution connects with young people of different age groups, abilities in boxing and socialise within the sport which is great.

8. Do you think Boxing Evolution can help with the problem of gang, gun and knife crime?

Most of the gangs and violence I have seen in my 20 years of living in Slough is due to youths between the ages of 10-18 not having things to do. People join gangs and are up to no good due to boredom. Boxing Evolution could give young people with energy and talent a good foundation for future success, not only in sport but more importantly in life in general.

9. Three months on is there anything else that you would like to add?

Thank you Matthew Flavell for great coaching and the opportunity to be involved in a sport I have always been a great fan of. Great 3 months gone and hopefully many more years ahead.
